September 2021

Stafford Singers will start a new season of rehearsals on Monday 6th September.
The committee has prepared a Covid Risk Assessment (RA) to cover our meetings. It is acknowledged that some of our members will be more wary of meeting in a large group to sing and it is hoped that these precautions will allow us all to be as safe as we can. Please be considerate of others and follow the guidance as far as you are able.

Many things in the RA will be sorted out before or after the session but members are asked to note the following points.

  • Please do NOT attend rehearsals if
    • You have any Covid symptoms
    • You have been asked to isolate by NHS Track & Trace
    • You have been in close contact with someone with symptoms
    • You have returned from abroad and asked to self-isolate
  • Please wear a face covering when moving around the building
  • Use hand sanitiser on arrival
  • Disinfectant wipes will be provided to wipe your chair before and after use
  • There will be no refreshments served so bring your own water bottle or other drink
  • Seats will be spaced at 1m. Please do not move them and do not swap seats.
  • Please respect social distancing and refrain from hugging, handshaking, etc
  • If you want to chat it is safer to do so outside before or after the rehearsal
  • Keep your belongings with you under your chair
  • Do not share equipment – music, pencils, etc
  • Avoid touching shared surfaces
  • If using the bathroom, use provided wipes before and after use following directions on posters
  • Windows and doors will be open for increased ventilation so bring an extra layer of clothing
  • A register of attendance will be kept for NHS Track & Trace purposes
  • There will be a few short breaks to rest our un-practiced voices but please remain in your seat as much as possible
  • At the end of the rehearsal wipe your chair and leave it to be put away by delegated chair stackers

This is not really how any of us would like to start our choir practices, but it is the sort of things we have become used to over the last year and a half. The main thing is that we will at last get to sing together.

May 2021

There will be NO Zoom practice on Bank Holiday Monday, 31st May.

Our AGM will be on Monday 7th June at 7.30. Use the same Zoom codes as for usual practices.

Our last Zoom sing of this season will on Monday 14th June.

Hopefully we can reconvene in person in September. Have a great summer and we'll see you in September.

April 2021

Zoom choir practices will take a two week break over Easter.
Next Zoom session Monday 19th April.

March 2021

We have a date for a Christmas concert with the Stafford Orchestra at Doxey Church on Wednesday 15th December.

February 2021

We have not been able to sing together in person since last March. In September we started meeting on Zoom. Due to the inherent delays over the internet we cannot hear each other singing but we each sing along to a backing track. It's not the same but at least we get to sing and see each other every week.
